Absolutely delicious. Make sure you make it again.

October dining club

We knew we were in for a treat when we booked ourselves into Sandy’s dining club last Thursday. Sandy’s cooking never disappoints. Surrounded by interesting objects on the shelves that once stocked coffee, olive oil and various other staples found in a food lovers larder, we enjoyed a delicious three course meal. We particularly enjoyed the Belly Pork with it’s subtle flavours of fennel and spices followed by a pear and ginger sponge so light it melted in the mouth. Although it was a little daunting arriving for a meal with eight other guests, many of whom we didn’t know or know well, by the end of the evening we were all laughing at shared jokes. A thoroughly enjoyable evening masterfully hosted by Sandy – we will be coming back.

First Dining Club 2011

It was lovely to be at the christening of the Cornucopia Dining Club, and we thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
The food was truly delicious, and sorry we missed the Coffee, chilli and chocolate, but look forward to that another time.
We also really enjoyed meeting your other guests there, and think it is a brilliant idea.

Hen Weekend, 3rd September

The food this weekend was amazing!! Thank you so much. What a brilliant service, and seriously delicious food. Everyone kept asking me where I had got it from. Really generous amount, too, which we very nearly managed to polish off. Cath got to take some salsa home, as we didn’t quite manage to get through it, which she was happy about!
I will definitely recommend you in the future to anyone doing a similar thing.
And lucky me and Cath that we get to eat your food again in two weeks time!
Overall, the hen weekend went really well and the food was definitely a big part of that. So thank you again.

Picnic, Friday 26th August

Dear Sandy I can’t thank you enough for the wonderful picnic.  I knew the food would be fabulous because I’ve sampled so much of your cooking over the years.  But the presentation was amazing too:  every item imaginatively arranged and packaged.  I particularly loved the waxed paper parcels.  I felt like a child unwrapping their stocking on Christmas morning.  Finding one delicious surprise after another!  It was honestly a work of art. Afternoon tea guest, June 20th

Please pass on to those who provided so lavishly for my gluten free diet that they exceeded the call of duty and provoked some to fall into envy.

Salads perfect, Sandy.  Thank you so much.  My sister said it was the best outdoor meal she had ever ever had.  And particularly the salads because they tasted home made and not mass produced.

Hazel Faithful

I often team up with Sandy as her food is such good quality and really tasty, often suggesting combinations that are more interesting such as Chicken and pomegranate tagine and sesame dressing for a broccoli salad. My recent yoga retreat the feedback for the choice of food ranged from ‘good & plenty’ to ‘really great’ and ‘excellent’, to one complaint that the attendee ‘ate like a king and blew the diet’ she had been on! Sandy will definitely be looking after us again at the winter retreat in November

John and Christine Dowling

We want to thank you so much for helping us with John’s 70th birthday lunch on April 3rd.  The menu was wonderful.  We were so impressed when we heard from Mr Golsby that not only had you tested the veal beforehand, but that they had also.  It’s this sort of thoughtfulness that illustrates the absolute sincerity of your cooking.  The fish soup with the Thai sauce was a triumph both gastronomically and as an ice-breaker for the meal as everyone excitedly tested the strength of the hot sauce.
We had asked you to prepare food for 13 adults and you will, perhaps, be pleased to hear that not only did we feed 15 but there was enough for enthusiastic second helpings of all 3 courses.
Your instructions for preparation and serving made it very easy to serve everything at the right temperature and without any stress.
As you know, the other options open to us of either slaving over a hot stove for a couple of days or of going to an hotel which is often a bit officious, and difficult for young children, meant that your catering service especially at the modest prices you charge and the freshness and sophistication of the cooking, was absolutely the right thing.  Everybody who was at the lunch and the party included some people of distinction, a Lord Lieutenant, a High Sheriff, and a Vice-Chancellor, considered our lunch an absolute triumph.  John’s 70th birthday actually ran to 7 different occasions and it would have been impossibly exhausting, had we to put on the family lunch on our own.
We have wonderful memories of your tireless work at the Deli and wish you all success in your private catering service.
With kindest regards,  Christine and John
