Savoy Cabbage

Savoy Cabbage

  • Bring a pan of water to the boil with a pinch of salt and a slice of lemon or orange.
  • Shred cabbage evenly.
  • Melt a little butter, grate some pepper and nutmeg into the butter. You can add some grated orange zest to this mixture.  Use a saucepan large enough to accommodate the cooked cabbage.
  • Boil cabbage in water when it comes up to the boil, 2 – 4 minutes depending on how well you like it cooked.
  • Drain well.
  • Toss in the melted butter mixture.
